About Us
Urban Gardens offers Kirksville and North Missouri residents an authentic pumpkin patch, corn maze, and farm experience right within the Kirksville city limits. The Bender family owns the land on which we grow pumpkins, gourds, corn, tomatoes and other produce to sell at farmer’s markets. Plus, we just planted over 800 apple trees. They should be ready for picking by next year–the 2026 Season.
Our mission is to bring kids and families together because Kirksville doesn’t offer many options for affordable family fun. We hope Urban Gardens can bring joy to kids, students, and parents alike. Every year, we try to add something new and fun to the pumpkin patch. This year, you’ll enjoy meeting our new Mini Bull in the petting zoo. & the 144-foot greenhouse. We hope to see you soon!
Activities
Corn Maze
This year’s maze is bigger than ever. Come find your way through over 2 acres of fun!
Petting Zoo
Bunnies, goats, cows, horses, and a new mini-bull! A trip to the farm should always include time to meet all of the interesting farm animals in the Urban Gardens.
Ghost Town
Stop by the jailhouse, casket shop, or old cemetery. Take some pictures, or just keep your eyes open for spooks.
Harvest Games
From pumpkin tic tac toe to bean bag corn hole, there are plenty of fun games for kids of all ages.
Saloon
Grab yourself some apple cider, hot cocoa, coffee or homemade root beer. Plus, snacks like mini donuts and kettle corn to keep you energized. **Open Friday – Sunday.**
Pony Rides
Enjoy a ride on one of our miniature ponies. Available on weekends in October only for $5 per ride.
Noah’s Ark
Run, jump, and have fun at the kid’s playground. Enjoy the boat or the wide-open area to play and be young at heart. Activities for kids of all ages!
Train Ride
Not sure where to start? Hop onto the train ride and see all the attractions and activities. Every guest receives one complimentary ride!
Fall Mums
If you’re looking for mums this fall, come on by and choose from multiple colors. All our mums come in 2-gallon pots. $15 a piece, or 2 for $25.
Huge Slide
A Family Favorite! Our 60-foot slide is the biggest in the region. It can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Come give it a try!

School field trips are available by appointment.
